Curry, one of the world’s most popular dishes

As we know, Curry originates in India, however beyond the borders of India, Southeast Asian countries have also developed a high standard of curry dishes, whatever the style are aromatic and appetising and suitable for any occasion.

As for the taste, hot is not the main characteristic of a curry. By mixing with a variety of different ingredients, a curry can have a range of unique and delicious flavours.

The basic ingredients of a Curry are:

Fresh Spices: Turmeric, Lady’s Finger, Kaffir Lime, Garlic, Onion, Red Chilli, Green Chilli, Coconut, Lemongrass, Laos Root, Star Anise, Dalchini, Bay Leaf, Gingers

Sun-dried Spices:  Lemongrass, Bay Leaf, Lime Leaf, Curry Leaf

Spices Powders:  Turmeric Powder, Red Curry Powder, and Yellow Curry Powder

How to keep Spices Fresh:

Fresh spices should be wrapped up well in a storage bag or container and should be kept in the lowest compartment of refrigerator, this way they will keep for 1 – 2 weeks.

Sun-dried Spices and Spices Powders should be stored in a well-sealed container and placed in a dry well ventilated place out of direct sunlight, these can be kept like this for several months.
